Anti-Regime Protests in Bukan over the Killing of Shirzad Ahmadinejad.

Anti-regime protests took place in Bukan over the killing of 43-year-old Shirzad Ahmadinejad on March 15th. Shirzad was arrested in Bukan in relation to the Mahsa Amini protests in February and transferred to a prison in Urmia, where he was subjected to severe torture while in custody and died as a result. According to Hengaw, Shirzad is the 10th Kurdish citizen tortured to death by Iranian security forces in recent months. 

In response to the news of Shirzad's killing, anti-regime protests erupted all over Bukonresidents of Bukon took to the streets to demand justice for him. On-the-ground video footage shows residents of Bukon chanting, "A martyr does not die" and "Dayeh, do not mourn for your child; we promise to avenge him."

According to Hengaw, Shirzad is the 10th Kurdish citizen tortured to death by Iranian security forces in recent months. Shirzad's body is now returned to Bukon by security forces.
