The 2nd Anniversary of Woman Life Freedom
Event: Second Anniversary of the "Woman, Life, Freedom" Movement (MAHSA DAY)
Date: September 15, 2024
Location: Queen's Park, Toronto
Details:
On the second anniversary of the Woman, Life, Freedom movement and the death of Mahsa Jina Amini, we unite globally in response to the human rights crisis in Iran.
This protest is a critical stand against the escalating repression, where state policies severely restrict women’s rights. The proposed "Chastity and Hijab" bill imposes draconian penalties, including imprisonment, fines, and bans on public and online activities.
The situation in Iran is dire. In the first 20 days of August 2024, one person was executed every six hours. Execution numbers have risen steadily since 2021, with 834 people executed in 2023 and 395 more as of August 26, 2024. Marginalized groups are disproportionately targeted.
Since 2022, over 500 protesters have been killed, and many more face imminent execution without due process. The regime’s increasing use of the death penalty as a tool of political repression demands urgent global action.
This protest stands in solidarity with the "No Death Penalty Tuesdays" movement—now in its 31st week of hunger strikes across 17 Iranian prisons. We call for an immediate halt to all executions and the abolition of the death penalty in Iran.
Join us on September 15th to demand justice, equality, and an end to the Islamic Republic's oppressive rule.
Stand with us. Your voice matters.
For The Right To Live
On Saturday, August 10, at 7 PM in Mel Lastman Square, we will unite against the Islamic regime's oppression, arrests, torture, executions, and for the right to life. Reza Rasaei was one of thousands of victims of 45 years of repression by the Islamic Republic, deprived of a final visit with his family. The struggle continues, with hundreds of lives at risk.
The death penalty is a tool for the regime's inhumane policies and revenge against those fighting for their rights. Recent death sentences for Sharifeh Mohammadi and Pakhshan Azizi are examples.
Let's not allow the regime to take more lives.

"Don't Let Them Kill Us"
Toronto, Canada
Saturday, May 18th, at 2:00 PM
Yonge-Dundas Square
"Don't Let Them Kill Us"
These were the last words of the young men in the Isfahan House case- Majid, Saeed, and Saleh - scribbled on a crumpled piece of paper.
At dawn, they were gone, leaving only the executioner and his gallows behind.
The Islamic Republic continues to seek necks for its noose, and the precious lives of Toomaj, Abbas, Reza, Mojahed, Mahmoud, Khosrow, and all our beloved ones who have bravely stood against the criminals of the Islamic Republic are in danger. It is now our duty to be their voice.
In worldwide gatherings on the anniversary of the state-sanctioned murder of Iran's children, we come together to protest against execution. We also stand against the oppression of women in Iran, which has been intensified through the increasing activity of the Morality Police.
We stand united until the day of freedom arrives. Finally, we call on the Canadian government to increase pressure on the Islamic Republic to help save the lives of those under threat of execution. This can be done by placing the IRGC on the terrorist list.

Until the last breath, “Woman, Life, Freedom.”
